Intensive 1:1 Skills Training

One-on-one skills training for children ages 7 years old and under, focuses on the child’s development of daily living skills and improvement in social/ interpersonal interactions at home, school and in the community

In-home Skills Training

Daily 3-5 hour in-home and community based skills training services provided for a frequency determined by medical necessity and family preference that is focused on rehabilitating and maintaining a person’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social functioning

Social and Daily Living Skills

Group skills training for children (ages 7-14) and teens (ages 15-21) with a focus on developing appropriate social skills and coping strategies in a group setting with peers

Treatment Plan Development & Review

Individual treatment plan is reviewed every 90 days or earlier if significant changes in functioning of client

Crisis Assistance

Crisis assistance plans developed at beginning of treatment for at-risk clients and on an as-needed individual basis

Family Skills Training

Family skills training can be done in-home or at our interactive center-based location

Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy sessions are a process of increasing an individual’s emotional awareness focused on developing social-emotional regulation and an increased understanding of mental health symptoms to help an individual cope with managing daily social/ interpersonal, emotional/ regulation or academic/occupational functioning impacted by his or her symptom presentation. Clinicians specialize in utilizing a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches with the common goal of alleviating distressing symptoms experienced by the client, creating more positive and meaningful relationships in the individual’s life, identifying and expressing emotions appropriately and remaining regulated to meet his or her full potential in functioning.

Family Therapy

Family therapy may include helping family members overcome emotions and thoughts related to receiving their child’s diagnosis through providing a safe place to process their experience with emotional support, validation, strategies. Psychotherapy session frequency and who will attend sessions is determined by the clinician and the service needs of the client based on the diagnostic assessment and treatment plan reviews. Family therapy can work on parent-child attachment, family system functioning including siblings and increasing relationship satisfaction for the family members and client.

Day Treatment

Day treatment is an intensive outpatient service that is provided in-center and occurs five days per week, three hours per day. Day treatment consists of receiving one hour of psychotherapy and two hours of skills training per session. Day treatment is a group service appropriate for children ages 2-7 years old needing assistance with regulating their emotions and behavior by being provided with a focused approach on developing skills in the areas of coping, social, communication, safety and problem solving. Clients in the day treatment group have a range of symptoms and diagnoses including trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder and attachment issues. The clients meet medical necessity for level 3 services, intensive outpatient and are commonly children who are at-risk of losing current childcare or school placement due to the intensity of their challenging behaviors.

School/Agency Partnerships

K Behavioral Health can provide mental health practitioners and professionals to come work in your school/agency setting to meet your needs for providing students/clients with the services they need. Behavioral Consulting and staff training can be provided to enhance utilization of communication systems for nonverbal children, problem solve school/ childcare behaviors affecting placement in your program and other services to meet your place of employment’s mental health areas of need.
